Boeing F/A-18E Super Hornet. The Super Hornet is the single seat version of the McDonnell Douglas F/A-18 Hornet. The Super Hornet entered service with the United States Navy in 1999 as the F-14 was retired. The Super Hornet is best known for its use by the Naval Aviation Warfighting Development Center. Based at Naval Air Station Fallon in Nevada, the training program is the Navy Strike Fighter Tactics instructor program (SFTI) or TOPGUN.
